Earlier this month, I was contacted by an elderly couple living in Mount Roskill South, on the border of West Auckland to assist with some electrical work in the bathroom of their home.

In this instance the home owner was able to adequately communicate the job requirements over the phone and they had pre-purchased the heated towel rail as well as choosing an ideal lighting in advance. This allowed me to be able to give them an indicative estimate over the phone and only required me to purchase an extractor fan which is straight-forward.

The entire job was taken care of within four hours. I successfully installed the heated towel rail in their bathroom with minimal fuss and hassle. When installing the extractor fan it was important that it was located in Zone 2. What this means is that within 2.5 meters of the shower head, ie: not within Zone 0 or Zone 1 - this means that the mist and condensation that naturally occurs will not be sucked into the extractor fan (which, naturally, is an unsealed appliance).

In addition to the heated towel rail and extractor fan installation the elderly couple also needed some lighting installed above their vanity. Their objective was to remove the current dark, dull corner from the bathroom by illuminating it with some new LED lights. I purchased and installed 3 LED lights (again, all arranged in advance of the job).

The final result was an excellent looking bathroom, ready for use for many years into the future with minimal fuss and a better overall bathroom experience.
